Mini Garden Tour

When I got home from work the other day, a heavenly scent was wafting down my alleyway! Turns out the honeysuckle had started blooming. So I decided to do a little walk around my garden, and took some pictures along the way.

These begonias always make me smile, with their big leaves and delicate flowers. They remind me of tiny orchids.

The vegetable garden is coming along nicely. Two kinds of leaf lettuce, and green beans, with some rogue violets along for the ride. This weekend I'm going to transplant the baby plants I've been growing on my kitchen windowsill!

And it looks like it's been a good spring for mulberries - the tree is abslutely loaded with fruit! Anybody know any good recipes??

Custom Market Bag Completed

I just finished the custom market bag for my April blog contest winner.

She loves blue, so I made it with two different shades of EcoWays Recycled Blend Yarn.

This is the time I've made a bag with thick and thin stripes, and I think it turned out great.

Congratulations, Andrea!

Garden in my Window

Even well into the month of May, it continues to be unseasonably cold here in PA. So, even though I already planted seeds outside, I decided to plant some inside too!

Baby herbs, snap peas, and green beans. Too cute! Still waiting for the baby zucchini to sprout. I love seeing them grow, and can't wait until it's time to move them all outside.

Busy Tuesday!

I couldn't sleep so I got up early Tuesday morning and went to the Laundromat. I love having the place to myself! After I got home with piles of clean clothes, I walked to the Post Office, bank, and Central Market. When I got back to my house I planted round two of veggie and herb seeds since the squirrels apparently ate my first planting. Those little buggers! I also built two shelves to store my growing collection of yarn, and discovered my power drill's working days are over. I had to turn those screws by hand!

I had such a busy day, I forgot to tell y'all about something. The EtsyFriends team (of which I am a proud member) is having a Springtime Giveaway. There is a lovely gift basket up for grabs, with over $230 in handmade goodies!
